TOURNAMENT FORMAT
Masters Shanghai will be split into two parts – the Swiss Stage and the Playoff Stage.
Not all teams face the same starting line. The elite few – the victors of each league’s Stage 1 – will be rewarded for their exceptional performances with a coveted bye, propelling them directly into the Playoff stage. The remaining 8 teams must prove their mettle in the Swiss Stage.
Swiss Stage (May 23 – June 3)
Teams will be seeded into the Swiss stage via a random draw to create the first 4 Swiss matches. To advance out of Swiss, teams will need to secure 2 victories before they accumulate 2 losses. Each match will be a Best-of-Three series.
Playoff Stage (May 30 – June 9)
The 4 teams that advance out of Swiss will enter the gauntlet of the Playoff Stage. It’s the top teams from IL competitions meeting the best from the previous stage, double elimination all the way through the Grand Final. Best-of-Five series once we reach the Lower and Grand Finals.
